Because it's still super early, only six weeks after the theatrical release, and they know people will pay it. They also know, at that price, most people will probably just go ahead and buy it. Both prices will probably drop a bit next month, when it releases on physical media, and then will likely drop again later in the year.

Besides what TC said, it will likely be free on Max within the next three months. So most people are waiting it out anyways. They are profiting off the dumb super fans who can't run cost analysis.

And some people don't think twice about spending money. I look around at all the home prices around me, and am amazed at how many people must be making outrageous amounts of money. What's $30-$40 for 3 hours of entertainment?

Rewatching on max and something I don't think was explained well is how Paul survived the water of life unless he had the same ability as his mom? Why would Chani giving him another drop bring him out of it?

The "scientific" explanation I remember was that Chani's tears diluted the second dose of The Water of Life just enough to jolt Paul's system and thus bring him back.

I took it as fulfilling prophecy. Like it's not really required but he knew it was part of their sayings, so he made himself need her water.

Finished my rewatch, think it was even better the second time through. Truly an awesome movie. Only minor nitpick I have is Feyd Rauthas terrible voice or accent or whatever it is. Don't know why we can't get Star Wars or fantasy movies of this kind of epic quality.

Horrible we will have to wait so long for the next chapter.
